For those who want to be part of a campaign team and learn key skills. 📌 What This Is: This is for volunteers who want to develop long-term campaign skills and be part of a structured campaign team when a Democratic candidate runs for office. These volunteers will receive training in areas like: •Campaign management •Communications & messaging •Data entry & voter targeting •Fundraising strategies •Field organizing (door-knocking & phone banking) 📌 Why It Matters: Having trained, ready-to-go teams will make it easier for future Democratic candidates to launch strong campaigns without starting from scratch. The more prepared campaign teams we have, the more viable candidates we can support and elect in Columbia County. 📌 How You Can Get Involved: •Take training courses in campaign roles •Connect with candidates who need experienced support •Help develop Local Blue’s campaign training network

For those who want to support candidates in more flexible ways. 📌 What This Is: This is for volunteers who aren’t on a campaign team but still want to help elect Democratic candidates. This includes: •Canvassing (knocking doors & talking to voters) •Phone banking & text banking •Distributing literature & yard signs •Helping with campaign events •Providing skills-based support (photography, social media, event hosting, etc.) 📌 Why It Matters: Not everyone has time for ongoing campaign work, but every effort counts in a deep red district. A strong pool of volunteers ensures that when it’s time to mobilize voters, we have the people power needed to make an impact. 📌 How You Can Get Involved: •Sign up for one-off or recurring volunteer shifts •Help a campaign in your free time •Use your skills (photography, graphic design, event planning, etc.) to support candidates

For those who want to show care through local service. 📌 What This Is: We support organizations like Community Works Columbia County by encouraging our volunteers to get involved. These shared efforts aim to build relationships and trust across political differences by working together to meet local needs. Examples include: • Participating in community clean-ups • Volunteering at food drives, shelters, and fundraisers • Assisting with local charity events • Supporting school and library programs 📌 Why It Matters: By showing up and contributing meaningfully to local efforts, we help shift perceptions and build trust, demonstrating that Democrats are invested in the well-being of our whole community. 📌 How You Can Get Involved: • Sign up to volunteer • Suggest or organize a service opportunity • Volunteer with intention—your presence helps bridge divides

For those who want to contribute valuable insights & connections. 📌 What This Is: Beyond volunteering for events and campaigns, we need people to help build our knowledge base and expand our network. This includes: •Submitting local issues that Democratic candidates should know about •Helping us identify Democratic-friendly businesses & organizations •Recommending community events that we should participate in 📌 Why It Matters: Having local insights helps us keep candidates informed, grow our network, and stay connected to the issues that matter in Columbia County. This behind-the-scenes work strengthens our organizing efforts and helps us prepare for future elections. 📌 How You Can Get Involved: •Submit forms with information on local issues, events, and businesses •Help us identify volunteers, donors, and potential candidates •Keep an eye on what’s happening locally that we should engage with

For those who want to help build the movement itself. 📌 What This Is: This is for people who want to help Local Blue grow as an organization by working behind the scenes to support the collaborative effort. Volunteers in this category might: •Help manage the website & resources •Work on communications & outreach •Organize events & training programs •Coordinate volunteer recruitment & engagement 📌 Why It Matters: The stronger Local Blue is, the more support we can provide to candidates, volunteers, and the Democratic movement in Columbia County. This is about building long-term infrastructure that makes organizing easier for every election cycle. 📌 How You Can Get Involved: •Join the internal Local Blue team •Assist with website updates, social media, or newsletter content •Help organize volunteer efforts & training programs
